The best actor can vary as there is such a wide range of talented people to choose from, but with being nominated and receiving several awards including a Golden Globe for Best Actor in 2004 with his role in The Aviator, Leonardo DiCaprio has earned his title as the greatest actor of our time. His international fame started with his role in Titanic, still making it one of the highest grossing movies in the world, but his growing success only skyrocketed from there. His next big hit that blew up the box office was in 2002, with Catch Me If You Can, where he played the role of Frank Abagnale Jr. who made millions writing bad checks, which was based off of a true story. Later on he filmed Gangs of New York and The Aviator where he was applauded for his well-received performances with a Golden Globe and a second Academy Award nomination. In 2006, it again became apparent that Leonardo DiCaprio was a force to be reckoned with as he released yet another huge box office hit, The Departed, where he played the role of a state trooper undercover in the Irish Mob. This highly anticipated film became one of the highest ranked in 2006, earning it four oscars at the 79th Academy Awards, where DiCaprio also walked away with Best Supporting Actor Award, but his best film had still yet to come. In 2010, he starred in his most recent film, Inception, where he plays the character of Dom Cobb who extracts information from others by entering their dreams. This epic science-fiction film is one of the highest-grossing films of all time, earning it eight Academy Award nominations, and receiving four.
